Custom web design services for everyone

The typical flow of events when engaging in a custom web project development is as follows:

Initial Consultation

During the initial consultation, the needs and purpose of the website are discussed as well as any logistics involved in the planning process: time, budget, etc.

Options Proposal

Once a general idea of what is needed has been established, a list of options will be proposed.  There is generally more than one solution to a web design need.

Letter of Engagement

After an option has been decided on and a price agreed upon, the client will be asked to sign a letter of engagement.  This letter will provide a detailed outline of the development, an estimate for its completion, and any terms and conditions applying to the development project.

Development

During the development stage, the client will be kept up to date on the progress of the site, and will be allowed to see the site at various stages of development, as needed.  The client may also be required to supply necessary materials, such as text, images, and company logos for the site.

Site Launch

Once the client has approved the site, the site will "go live" and be available to web users.

Maintenance

No site is ever finished.  Sites need to be maintained, have periodic changes made, and usually need a redesign every year or so.  All maintenance falls under the standard $65/hr maintenance fee, unless a custom maintenance schedule was laid out during the proposal.

Custom Web Design

Get a website with a unique look and feelThere really is no other way to get all the features or the unique identity you want in a website without having one custom designed specifically for you.  Luckily, custom does not have to mean expensive.  Contact me for a personal consultation and a free custom web design estimate.  I provide quality custom web design to businesses in Central Kentucky or in other states where collaboration through phone and e-mail is possible.

Following is some of the information that I will need, in order to give you an accurate custom web design quote:

1.  What is the purpose of the website?

Examples include: a personal page to share with friends and family, a small business site to provide basic info about the company, or a company intranet.

2.  What will the site need to do, besides present textual information and graphics ?

Examples include: having a contact form that will email the information to a company rep, managing documents for an employee intranet, or maintaining a classifieds section.

3.  What kind of budget do you have for the site?

The budget doesn't dictate the total cost.  It will just give me an idea of what kind of options are available to you in your price range.

4.  How much control will you need over the content of the site?

Whether you need control over almost all of the content of the site or you just need to make a change here and there (a phone number or e-mail update for example), will greatly impact how the site is designed.

5.  Will any part of the site need to be secured?

Securing sections of a website requires a little extra work and planning.  It helps to know up front if this is going to be necessary.
